NYX Cosmetics: Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick REVIEW & SWATCH

I'm going to be reviewing the Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick by NYX Cosmetics. The Lip Lingeries are one of a few liquid lipstick products from NYX, but what sets them apart is that these dry down completely matte to where they don't move for long lasting power. For the review of 'Embellishment' Lip Linger, then read this article.

I'm going to be reviewing the Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick by NYX Cosmetics.

I actually had one in my collection for awhile and completely forgot about it until I saw Elizabeth at @thesweets_beauty, who is a beauty blogger on Instagram, do a review and swatch on a few of these. I'd show you guys some of her swatches, but I hadn't gotten around to getting permission from her so I'll just link her Instagram right here.

Anyways, the Lip Lingeries are one of a few liquid lipstick products from NYX, but what sets them apart is that these dry down completely matte to where they don't move for long lasting power. I personally like those types of liquid matte lipsticks, but I know some don't because they can be drying and uncomfortable when worn for a long period of time. They also don't have that mousse feel and are more transfer resistant unlike the Soft Matte Lip Creams and the Liquid Suedes.

I saw that the doe foot applicator for this liquid lipstick is not your typical one. I noticed that they also use the same one with the Liquid Suedes where the doe foot is more flat than rounded. It is bigger than your average applicator, which I personally don't like, but I like the design. Because it's flat, you can use the edge to get into the corners and line the cupid's bow for a more precise application, then use the flat side for a large swipe of product to fill in.

Swatch of the NYX Lip Lingerie in shade Embellishment.
I was a little hesitant when it came to picking a color because when I saw it online, it looked liked like variations of nude, taupe, and brown that would look like I got punched in the mouth. I did see a red and a pink when Elizabeth did her swatch, but I wasn't interested in those colors. The one I have is in shade Embellishment, which is a muted purple shade. For me, it's kind of a risky color because purples just don't look good on me AT ALL.

Purple also really brings out the yellow in my skin, but I actually really like this shade. I decided to do a lip swatch because my camera was refusing to focus when I was trying to do it on the inside of my forearm. I don't think the picture is showing how much purple there really is - it looks more like a taupe on my screen, but that could just be me. I think it's a pretty wearable purple shade for me and a lot of other people

I really like this product and am glad that NYX came out with it because while I like the Liquid Suedes, I straight up don't like the Soft Matte Lip Creams I just find them annoying to wear. If you want the matte look, but not the feel then you'll like the Lip Creams.
