Adore Box UNBOXING: September 2017

Adore Box is a beauty and lifestyle subscription service that sends out four to ten hand-selected products in each box for a minimum of $15.00 USD. To see what came in the September box, read the article below.

Adore Box sent these products to the author of LeeNG Beauty for free for promotional purposes. All opinions are the author’s own.

It’s that time of the month again for the unboxing of the September Adore Box. For those not familiar with Adore Box, it’s like IPSY, but it’s not limited to just beauty products. Adore Box is a beauty and lifestyle subscription service that sends out four to ten hand-selected products in each box for a minimum of $15.00 USD. In addition to beauty products, they also include jewelry, accessories and clothing (depending on the subscription plan you choose), and edibles. You can also choose the size and frequency of your box.

MAC Strobe Cream (Full Size $33.00 USD)

The first item is the MAC Strobe Cream, an iridescent particle-infused moisturizer. Giving dull skin a boost of luminescence, it just gives your complexion a slight pick-me-up. It’s very subtle, so even if you don’t have perfect skin, it won’t amplify skin flaws.

You can wear it by itself for a natural look or mix with a foundation for lighter, more luminescent coverage.

MIJIN Cosmetics’ Horse Oil Essence Mask ($2.99 USD)

The second item is the Mijin Cosmetics’ Horse Oil Essence Mask, a Korean sheet mask. This sheet mask is infused with an essence called Horse Oil, which relaxes, moisturizes, and improves skin elasticity that can be used all year-round and hot or cold, depending on the season. How you would use the sheet mask is after cleansing your face, you’d pop it on for fifteen to twenty minutes then tap any leftover essence into your skin.

Something I did find somewhat contradictory about the product is that it says it can be used on all skin types, but it also says not to use it on active acne. Because of my acne-prone skin, I can’t use it so I’ll just save this for a future giveaway.

Maybelline '410 Prime + Smooth' Master Prime Long-Lasting Eye Shadow Base ($6.99 USD)

The third item is the Maybelline Master Primer Long-Lasting Eye Shadow Base. As far as I know, there are three types of the eyeshadow base, but the one I received is the ’410’ or ’Prime + Smooth’. It’s meant to create a smooth surface for application and enhance color payoff, but can also be worn by itself for a fresh, natural look as it has a luminescent finish containing what seems to be shimmer particles.

While the finish wouldn’t be that noticeable underneath eyeshadow, I would prefer a matte base (like the 'Prime + Matte') from brow bone to lid. If I were to use this, it would only be on the brow bone or underneath a shimmer eyeshadow.

Milani '403 REJUVENATING Peach-Mango' Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment ($8.00 USD)

The fourth item is the Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment. Formulated with jojoba, avocado, and Tsubaki oil, the lip treatments heal and hydrate lips, plus each shade is infused with a different nutrient oil that targets different skin concerns.

The shade I received is 'Peach Mango,' which is infused with peach seed oil. Peach seed oil contains vitamin A, E (antioxidant), and B-groups. It’s also an emollient that can soothe those with dry, flaky, or sensitive skin.

SORME Cosmetics' 'Black Jade' Smear-Proof Eyeliner ($13.00 USD)

And the last item is the SORME Cosmetics’ Smear-Proof Eyeliner, a pencil liner created from splinter-proof wood with a square shape for better grip and control. It’s also formulated with vitamins C and E to nourish the eye area, plus applies smoothly for easy application.

The shade I received is called 'Black Jade,' which like the name suggests, is a dark or blackened green that seems to also have green shimmer. You can’t see the shimmer when applied, but it becomes more visible when you rub it and will even come off on fingers.

One note I do have about this eyeliner is that it’s DEFINITELY NOT smear-proof. Because I have hooded and oily lids, I’ve never encountered a pencil liner where the claim actually held up and didn’t leave a smudgy mess or immediately transfer up onto my upper lid. Just testing it on my hand, it immediately smeared just running my fingers across it, even after waiting a few minutes to see if it just needs to set.
