My Runway Eyes: Date Night Mascara REVIEW

My Runway Eyes is a leading eyelash cosmetics company with their eyelash serum and mascaras such as the Date Night Mascara, which gives the look of fluttery lashes and promotes lash growth. To learn more about the Date Night Mascara, then read this article.

My Runway Eyes sent this product to the author of LeeNG Beauty for free. Any opinions/experiences are the author’s own.

Founded by Krista Hegstrom and her husband, My Runway Eyes (formerly known as Lluvia Lashes) is one of the leading cosmetics company for eyelash products. It’s a relatively new brand having launched in mid-to-late 2017 with their Eyelash Lengthening Serum and a couple mascara products making up their current product line. All of which are hypo-allergenic and ophthalmologist tested.

My Runways Eyes had sent me their whole selection to try, but for this post, I will only be talking about their Date Night Mascara. The posts for the Complete Me Fiber Mascara and Eyelash Lengthening Serum will be published and linked back here at a later point.

Costing $25.00 USD, the Date Night Mascara is a jet-black formula of pentapeptides and conditioning extracts for a full, fluttery look, in addition to promoting lash growth when used daily. This mascara comes with a bubble-shape wand for easy application that’s supposed to coat every lash, including the outer corners and lower lashes.

I’m only going to review it like any other mascara; I’m not going to determine whether it DOES promote lash growth or not because it’ll conflict with trying to review their Lash Serum.

The first thing I want to talk about is the wand, which has a unique shape compared to other mascaras. Initially, I thought I was going to hate the shape, but I liked it more than expected. It separates and curls lashes, but I did have to run the wand through my lashes A LOT because of all the dips between the bubbles that don’t catch the hairs. Though the tip does make coating the lashes on the inner and outer corner, and lower lash-line easier.

Formula-wise, it’s lacking in some aspects, but I like it over other mascaras. The reason I like it is that it's the only formula where I haven’t experienced significant smudging or transfer after wearing it all day. With other mascaras, my lashes stick together and I end up looking like a raccoon. The downside is that this particular product of their's seems to dry out quickly, which can cause clumping the longer you use it.

These are my lashes before mascara. I have long lashes, but because of the shape and how hooded my eyes are, they droop
down.

These are my lashes with one coat of mascara applied. One coat will help curl and add thickness but doesn't look too much
different from before.

These are my lashes with two coats of mascara applied, which is the minimum I recommend for noticeable results. A
second coat further curls and adds more thickness.

In terms of results, it DOES NOT do anything to lengthen (doesn’t claim to either), but it does make individual lashes look thicker. If you just want volume, this would be a good fit. However, this is NOT for someone that wants dramatic results. You have to build for noticeable results — at least two coats. One coat will work, but it'll look and feel like nothing for those that aren't blessed with long, dark lashes.
